Jarno's Collection of Polo's - NL

Hello everybody, I'm new to this forum, and I thought it would be nice to share my Polo's with all of you fellow-Polo-lovers from Poland :good: Unfortunately I don't speak nor read/write Polish, so I'll introduce myself and my Polo's in English if you don't mind.

Well, some "basic information" about myself:
Name: Jarno Aantjes
Age: 26 (22 december 1985)
Sex: male
Occupation: student, I recently graduated as MSc in Business Administration at the Radboud University Nijmegen, and currently graduating as MSc in Economics at the Utrecht University.
Hobbies: Polo's, Polo's and Polo's :yahoo:

My & my grilfriend on holiday in Rome:
Obrazek

In total I own 3 Polo's, one 1986 Polo 2 Coupe and two 6N's from 1995 and 1996:

Polo 2 Coupe, 1.0 8v GL, 1986:
This Polo used to be my grandmothers car, but when she couldn't drive anymore, my grandparents gave it to me. It's not the fastest, not the prettiest, not the best, but it has sentimental value, and is an easy car to maintain. Plus it's an oldtimer, meaning I do not have to pax any taxes for it in Holland, and insurance is very cheap.

How it used to look:
Obrazek Obrazek

And how it looked last year:
Obrazek Obrazek

What I've done to it so far:
-yellow Koni shockabsorbers allround
-KW 60/40 springs
-Bonrath polyurethan toprubbers (10mm extra lower)
-Bonrath polyurethan stabilisor-rubbers in the wishbones
-aluminium stabilisor-holders on the front side
-new wishbones
-new wheelbearings
-Zimmermann brakediscs with new Mintex brakepads
-Polo 6N2 GTI 2-piece BBS RS772, with a white lip and orange centers

But the striping is gone, and the wheels are sold. It's on its 14inch VW Montreal wheels again (original VW mk2 Golf GTI wheels). Unfortunately I don't have a picture of the current state.

Polo 6N, 1.6 8v AEE (LPG), 1996:
This is my daily driver 6N, drives really cheap on LPG (gas)

How it used to look:
ObrazekObrazek

I bought it for only 250 euro, with a broken gearbox and 294.000km's. I already had a refurbished gearbox lying around, and swapped it altogether with another AEE engine with only 180.000km's:
Obrazek

And how it looked last year when I took it to Worthersee / Austria:
Obrazek

And how it looks right now:
Obrazek Obrazek

Also some modifications where made, almost all to the suspension:
Obrazek Obrazek Obrazek

Modifications so far:
-FK Highsport coilovers
-Eibach 25mm anti-roll bar on the rear axle
-polyurethan wishbone rubbers
-polyurethan anti-roll bar droplink rubbers front
-polyurethan pendelum-mount rubbers on the gearbox/engine
-polyurethan rubbers on top of rear shocks
-FK aluminium strutbrace between the rear shocks
-1.3 ADX gearbox (smaller ratios)
-K&N replacement airfilter
-stainless steel 4-2-1 exhaust manifold
Obrazek

Polo 6N, 1.3 8v ADX (currently busy with an engine swap!), 1995:
This is the Polo I bought when I first got my drivers license, and it's been my love ever since ;) it's not a daily driver anymore, and it became my full-on project car. Lots has been changed throughout the years I've possessed it, some pictures of how it looked when I first picked it up, and some of the (sometimes awefull) looks it used to have during the years I've owned it:

Obrazek Obrazek Obrazek

Then it all had to change:
Obrazek Obrazek Obrazek Obrazek Obrazek Obrazek Obrazek

I bought GAS airride:
Obrazek

The engine back to go in again:
ObrazekObrazek Obrazek Obrazek Obrazek

Got new wheels:
Obrazek

Together with one of my best friends' 6N Jeroen Leenders (which now also looks completely different):
Obrazek

Some of the more modifications, Eibach front and rear anti-roll bars:
Obrazek

Polyurethan:
Obrazek

Then the dashboard went out:
Obrazek

Dashboard from a 6N2 GTI went in:
Obrazek

Bought brake discs for the rear:
Obrazek

And GTI brakes for the front, but G60 bracket and discs and pads where used (280mm):

I customized my airride set-up with bigger chrome tank, twin chrome Vi-Air compressors, and controlling per strut:

Bumpstops removed to go as low as possible:
Obrazek

Then I bought and renewed a set of BBS RS001:

Also put on Zender Turbo 2's once:
Obrazek

Electric 6N2 mirrors with an English small one:
Obrazek

Some pictures during the brake-swap:
Obrazek Obrazek

All new :D
Obrazek Obrazek Obrazek Obrazek

Working on our Polo's in my friends workshop with his Polo in his new look:
Obrazek

Put on original bumpers, and cleaned them myself:
Obrazek

Got help from my other friend Edwin with the bumpers, he owns the beige Polo 6N on Lincoln wheels:
Obrazek Obrazek Obrazek

Took the engine out again, this is my looking for it:
Obrazek

Working on the Polo's some more:
Obrazek

Smoothed the engine bay and got it resprayed:

My friend Jeroen Leenders welding on the new custom 2,5 inch exhaust system:
Obrazek Obrazek Obrazek

It's almost invisible ;)
Obrazek

That's it roughly so far, a lot has changed, too much to list actually, but I think the pictures tell the most on what has been changed through the years. At this moment the new engine to replace the 1.3 8v ADX is already in, and is going to be a whole lot faster. A lot had to be custom made, but it is nearing it's end now :piwo: as soon as it's finally done I'll post some pictures and info on the new engine. :good:
I hope you all enjoy my Polo's, and feel free to comment, give your opinion or ask me something about what has been done :victory:

Thanks for the warm welcome everybody! :victory:

@ Justice: yes, I guess you mean Jeroen Leenders from the 6N 1.8 20v bi-turbo with 500+bhp? If so, yes, that's him! If you guys want, I can post up some pictures of his ride lateron. Big chances are we are going to screw his new exhaustmanifolds on this Sunday, made of a better type of stainless steel which can bear higher temperatures (his previous manifolds tore themselves due to the heat in the exhaust which came above 1.000 degrees Celsius :blush2: )

@ vwkas18: thanks, but on what forum did you already found a picture of my 86c? I hardly post any pictures of it since it's only a daily driver, so I'm curious on which forum it turned up :D

And I forgot to post the pictures of the grey 6N how it looked when I was done in 2010 and took it to Worthersee  so here are some pictures of how it looked at Worthersee and the Club Charlys event in Belgium before the 1.3 8v went out for the bay-smoothing and engine-swap:

Well done for the hard work! I prefered it a lot more on the original 6n bumper to be honest! Colour is awesome. Are the air ride struts shortened, custom made or have they been built onto coilovers?

Hello mate,

I have seen your 6N on ClubPolo.co.uk before and I will just repeat what everyone else said. Your Polo is fu*king impressive! Talking about the front bumper, you do run the 16v bumper now, don't you?

Would be nice to see all the pictures displayed as thumbnails, as its quite hard to read through at the moment, so looking forward to that Justice!

Well, good luck with the future plans and I recommend you to consider looking at the Polish scene in metal, during the Vag Event this year! :)
