yeah because chassis sit on it permanently, that's why they dont here knocking and this is not solution for me mate :acute:

Only if you lower it too much wojtasllb, at least that is my experience with the 6N2 GTI's I've lowered for others, and I always trust more on my own experience then what others type on forums. Anyway, if you're looking for a rear ARB, and can't find an Eibach one, look for a Neuspeed one for a mk2 Golf, they use droplinks and fit the 6N and 6N2 rear axle with slight modifications plus you can get them in 28mm, so even 3mm thicker than the Eibach ARBs :piwo:

PS1. I have the same feelings about club polo uk - too many children, too big, so it`s difficult to find something usefull there

Jarno is this Eibach rear ARB kind of a substitute for the stock GTI integrated ARB or it's possible to have them both? (2 ARB: wouldn't it be too rigid?)

I've the same impression, forums in UK are very disorderly. Sometimes I search for informations on the detailingworld.co.uk and it's a nightmare

@ Borek: No, it's not a substitute, the original ARB is IN the rear beam, the Eibach or Neuspeed ARB is ON the beam, and even connects to the lower mounting point of the rear shockabsorbers! So much stiffer then the original ARB, and both can be used at the same time!

I see the difference and where it is fixed, I'm only wondering that if we have stock GTI beam and additionally place the Eibach ARB the suspension of each wheel becomes not more independent - perhaps better handling in the corners but much worse ability to absorb bumps

It is still independent, and does move independent on the straight, but gets more stable in corners. The stock ARB does not mount onto the lower mounting points of the rear shock absorbers, so the GTI beam with stock ARB can still flex sideways, resulting in toe-in of the outside wheel during corners. The Eibach ARB does mount on the lower mounting points of the rear shocks, so it also prevents a lot of the flex in the rear beam during corners, less toe-in of the outer wheel in corners, and less toe-out of the inner wheel in corners = more stable in corners as well.
Shrotly said, the stock GIT ARB only prevent torque of the beam, the Eibach ARB prevents torque and flex of the beam at the same time.

Funny that they found that topic! But it is also the perfect example of why I nowadays only rely on my own experience. The topic dates from 2009, and back then I only had experience with my own Eibach ARB, I have only READ about the H&R ARB on forums. So in 2009 I thought both ARB's were the same in the extra curve to not hit the chassis. But in 2010 I had a friend over who installed an H&R ARB on his 6N2 GTI, and it made almost no difference. We checked/measured his and my ARB, and there indeed was a difference in distance, the Eibach can go lower than the H&R is what we found out. So, like I said, I always try to rely on my own experience, and since 2009 I've obtained new insights based on my own experience. Hope my story is clear to you wojtasllb?

Jarno maybe i shouldn't say so cuz it sounds rather unproffesional but if the ARB hits the chasis wouldn't it be a kind of solution to modify it slightly? Straight: give it some serious hit with a big hammer? It's only a matter of a few milimeters so...
