[6n1] 1.9 AEF diesel vibrations on idle inside cabin

Post autor: Rolizz »

Hello,

I am from Lithuania, from a neighborhood :) and have these problems:
1) vibration on idle. You can feel it over seats, even butt also vibrates :D Vibration goes to the end of the car, and when I open rear trunk - vibration is visible on it. I have done: dogbone changed - FEBI production. Engine mount - changed. Only left gearbox side mount, by the way - on idle if i put my hand on battery, I feel how it vibrates, so in my opinion, maybe mount under battery is failing?
2) Second problem: low rpm on cold, around 900. I think load potenciometer gives bad signal, I am right?

For this time I finish, and will be waiting for yours suggestions what to do. You can write in polish, somehow i translate it with google functions. Thank You.

I have the same problem (vibrations). I bought dogbone (febi) but it changed nothing. In internet is opinion that only original dogbone can solve this problem. I ordered dogbone from VW (very expensive) and now I am waiting on it. I will give you an answer, if it is a good solution.
Pozdrawiam

In this forums was written how to restore dogbone and it helped for few members. According to google translate, there was written about hole making in bushing, filling with gum glue or something like that, after that resemble of dogbone. I ll try this mod with dogbone, but not sure it will help. Also there is one unanswered question, why battery is vibrating on idle :D

I have one more question. Cuz I have very low rpm (700) on cold, i turned load signal potentiometer to one side and get higher rpm. Its now turned on maximum and I think on right side. Could it (low rpm and low adjusting zone with load potentiometer) caused due to bad timing? Car starts on cold with no problems.

Hi Rolizz,
vibrations could be down to number of things, ie bad injector, fuel pump, or even blocked fuel filter, just to name a few...
also its worth checking if your car has dual mass fly wheel, if it is failing, it would give you bad vibrations from power train.

Yes, simple diesel with engine code AEF has DMF. How to check if it is failing? Changing gears there is no strange sound or rattle from gearbox over pedal. As I know, SDI engine has single mass flywheel, but I'm not sure it fit for AEF engine.

if dmf is faulty you will feel off-centre, irregular rotating mass...
other than that personally I would start with basics, replace fuel filter, test injectors in local diesel specialist...
have you checked fault codes at all?
does your engine have egr valve?

Okay, I will write what I have done: restored injectors with new nozzles, made stock pressure 130 bar; replaced thermostat, engine hydro-mount, filters also, clogged egr . After these works vibration was less, but still here. So there is one option left to read is there any fault codes.
